I'm on probation for A DUI that I received 7yrs ago (yes, it will catch up with you eventually. That "out of sight, out of mind" doesn't work.) Anyways... I took a test 2 weeks ago and just received the results. I had taken some pain meds for a cracked tooth about 10 days prior, but I drank a bunch of water, eat healthy, and I'm fairly sure they were outta my system. I saw my probation (PRIDE) officer and she sprung the test on me. I had to walk 3 miles to the facility in sunny FL weather... so I drank a bottle of water on the way. Apparently that was enough to make my results "DILUTE" and according to the letter I received... they consider that a failure. They changed my next appointment date to Tues at their main branch/facility. Is this because they're going to test me again under more extreme circumstances?? Do I get to contest this and take another test?? Did they change it to the other facility because it's next to the jail and they're going to have officers waiting??? I can't believe that they could throw someone in jail or punish them in any way just for drinking too much water. I really had no deliberate intention on screwing up the test that day, but I know they probably here that all the time. The letter also advised me to "seek legal assistance at this time." I wish this were possible, but all their fines, fees, classes etc already have me live'n paycheck to paycheck. Any advise anyone can give? What can I expect? Do I have any options? Any and all assistance would greatly be appreciated. (Just please don't waste your time and mine by preaching about abstinence etc etc. I cleaned myself up long ago and genuinely just want to know how I can manage this fiasco.) Thank you!!
