Dilution Tips, Tricks & Guidelines
For best results, abastain for a minimum of 48 hours before the test. Of course, the longer you wait, the better your chances are.
Urine tests aren't looking for THC, they are looking for THC metabolites. Dilution reduces the amount of THC metabolites found in your urine sample.
Time permitting, 2-3 days before the test you will want to begin raising you creatinine levels. Creatine, which metabolizes into creatinine in 24-48 hours, can be raised with red meat or a creatine supplement, which is available online or at nutritional food stores. The amounts of creatinine metabolites are measured as part of the urine integrity check—the check to see if the sample is urine and if it is diluted. Creatinine level must be 20 mg/dL or greater.
4-12 hours before the test, take four (4) aspirin. Do not take Tylenol or Advil! This step may be repeated every 4-6 hours up until 4 hours before the test.
3-4 hours before your test, start by drinking two 8-ounce glasses of water. Water can be substituted for with cranberry or fruit juice, Powerade or Gatorade, teas, or even soft drinks. Then drink another 8 ounces every 15 minutes for the next hour, for a total of six glasses of water, or 48 ounces.
In about 1-2 hours, depending on your system, you should be voiding clear urine every 15-20 minutes. Continue to drink 3-4 ounces of water to replace what you've voided every 20-30 minutes.
1-2 hours before the test, take about 10 times the daily recommended dosage of vitamin B2 or B complex. If the vitamins are time release, crush them before taking. You may also take vitamin B with each glass of water, two times the daily dosage, if you find it easier.
That's it! Within 30-45 minutes of taking your vitamins, if you took your vitamin B in one dose, your urine should turn from clear to "vitamin" yellow and remain so for the next 2-4 voids. Be sure you have voided diluted urine at least 3-4 times before you test. It is always best to do a practice run as everyone is different and times may vary. Good luck!
Note: There is no 100% effective dilution method. That includes any of the magic potions. But these guidelines will work as well and better than any magic potions you can buy. Best of all, it's free!
Another Dilution Method
For some reason, aspirin triggers a false negative on the common assay-type urine screens. Myself and some others have been successful using a combination of dilution and aspirin to beat the drug test.
Do not dilute with water, instead, dilute with Gatorade or pedialyte. Add about 2 tablespoons of salt per quart. It is going to taste pretty bad, so be warned.
Also, take a six Tums or Rolaids. The reason for taking this is to consume extra salts and minerals in the hopes that you dilute your urine, you will keep your specific gravity up in case it is checked. A low specific gravity occurs when you flush your system with excess water, which is detectable.
Go to the lab within minutes of it opening. Why? Because there is usually only one or two people working right at the opening and they have to multi-task to get the place open, have their first cup of coffee, chit chat, etc. They will be more likely to skip checking temperatures and specific gravity.
Dress up in your best. For the men, a suit and tie, and for the ladies, a nice dress.
Take a creatine supplement bginnning two days prior and up to the test. Creatine does not build up in yor system very much so it doesn't make sense to increase it for much more than a day or so prior.
- Two hours prior to test, get up and urinate.
- Make a drink with the following: 1 quart of liquid, a creatine supplement, 3 aspirin, and 4 Rolaids.
- One hour prior to the test, take 1 quart of liquid, 3 aspirin, 1 B vitamin, and 4 Rolaids.
- Half an hour prior to the test, take 2 quarts of liquid, 2 aspirin, and 4 Rolaids.
Uriniate as often as possible throughout the process and right up to test time. There is no worry about being able to produce a sample, trust me, your problem is going to be getting there without going in the car!
I suggest that you test the process with water and vitamins alone sometime prior to test day to determine at what point it is best to take the aspirin. Take it too late and it doesn't have time to show up. Take it too early and it flushes out before your test.
Color is probably the least thing to worry about though, given that most people that drink a healthy amount of water have pretty clear urine.
Also, it's a good idea to use home drug test kist and to do a dry run. There is nothing like that negative home test to eliminate some of the jitters. Good luck!
More Tips & Information
As we know, the goal is to drink enough fluids so that the level of THC metabolites will be below the cutoff, which is 50 ng/mL, without diluting too much so that the sample is rejected. There are thousands of scared, sleepless, and stressed out people who voice a concern of, "Will I get the call from the lab saying I was diluting and I will have to submit another sample?" My friends, this worrying could easily be prevented if you follow the advice here.
You should do practice runs either a few days or the day before and then drug test yourself to see if you have a negative test result. So if you get that negative result you know that the dilution worked.
How would you know then if the lab results are not going to come up diluted? Online vendors sell a product called "specimen validity strips." These test strips are a one time use, disposable dip-stick that will give you the answers you are looking for. Remember, in order to clinically have a diluted sample, the specific gravity and creatine is not within normal range. These validity strips tell you if the specific gravity and creatnin is within normal limits. Therefore, when you are practicing diluting, why not place a strip in the urine to see you did everything correctly. Why worry for days on end when you will know your answer ahead of time?
The drug testing strips are inexpensive, around $30 for 25 of them. You can order the testing strips from Craig Medical Distribution. Purchase these strips and you won't worry anymore.
